5/4/2023 0 Comments Warhammer community![]() Games are said to be faster paced and flow a lot better, hopefully meaning that it doesnt take as long to play through a game of 40k than it does now. Things will be harder to kill, AP is now rare and things have higher toughness, with some tanks having toughness values of over 11! This hopefully means that a game can be played without losing all your units turn 1, leading to a more fun experience. ![]() It was also said that lethality in general has been reduced across the board. It was mentioned that all rules like this will be printed on the Datasheet to make playing the game as easy as possible. Reactions are a brilliant part of The Horus Heresy, and it’s great to see them included here. Reactive rules are also mentioned – you can see one example above in the Termagant profile where they get to make a move if an enemy unit gets within 9″ ![]() Objective Control (OC) is a new stat in the game that represents how good a unit is at holding an objective – this will mean that you will want to take dedicated units for holding objectives, as they will probably be better at it than your pure combat units! This will make failing these checks more important and lead to things such as focusing fire on a unit to make them suffer the effects of shell shock! Morale has also changed – when you fail a morale check you no longer lose any models, instead your unit doesnt perform as well on the battlefield – maybe they can’t be affected by auras any more, or maybe they don’t fight as well. They also mentioned that command points are heavily reduced from the current edition – it shouldnt be that a player can use a combo of different strats turn one that can affect the game, and this has now gone in the new edition. No longer so you have to remember pages and pages of strats. If you pick a subfaction of an army you replace the 6 army strats with the 6 sub faction strats. One example given was that each army now only has 6 Stratagems in edition to a selection of core Strats in the core rules. So it seems that the game as a whole has been simplified, with a lot of the bloat from the game removed. Here is everything new know so far about the new 10th Edition of Warhammer 40k including any rules changes talked about on the stream
